☆RESCUER TEST DRIVE: DIGITAL LOVE

☆WELCOME RESCUERS

Welcome to Interstellar's first ever RESCUER TDM! A part of the Interstellar plot that has just opened up, this covers the entrance of those recruited by the lone space pilot Shep to join him on a mission to the planet Terra to rescue those held captive by Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment. Rescuers will not suffer any memory loss and will enter the game as they are, in contrast to the memory loss/force humanization of the musician half. Powers will be nerfed to a certain degree upon entering the game fully, but during recruitment they will remain at full power.

☆A DREAM ABOUT YOU
These prompts are designed to be game canon, for both rescuers and musicians both new and already in game. For those in game, they will start occurring around New Years in the form of dreams. The dreams will be very clear while happening, but after waking, they will swiftly fade away into something barely remembered. For rescuers, these dreams will occur very shortly before they are approached by Shep or other already recruited rebels to join the rescue squad and go save the people being held captive in Vista City. Rescuers will remember these dreams as clearly as something that actually happened in real life.

Both of these prompts take place in the dreamscape, ostensibly, and the surrounding will appear as whatever fits those taking part in a scene. It can shift and change as a thread goes along, as well, and may resemble things from a captive's home, the game setting, or anything else appropriate.

A1) FOR THE CAPTURED: The kidnapped musicians of Vista City will dream of being themselves - in a way more true than they have been for months now. They'll dream of themselves as they're meant to be, in physical form and manner of dress, and their personality will align more easily with their true nature, even as the confusing influences of their programming nag at their mind. It could alarm them, or it could feel somehow natural. Either way, their memories will still be gone, except for what they've recovered - but they feel somehow much closer to reach, like they may break through if only given the chance to dig just about deeper. They may dream of home, they may dream of Vista, but either way...when the morning comes, their memories of this experience will be all but wiped away. Including the memories of the strangers that promised that they would find them and take them home.

A2) FOR THE RESCUERS: The dream is the first sign of something being wrong. You'll find yourself somewhere else - either a scene from your home, or someone else's, or an alien world you've never seen. In this dream, you'll find a person. Perhaps it's someone you recognize, someone you love dearly, but that doesn't remember you. Maybe it's a stranger, lost, confused, and desperate for help. Either way, you find yourself reaching out to them - but outside of this dream, you are helpless to save them. The dream will fade but stay with you in your memory, and may be a key component in you choosing to believe and join the other rescuers when they come to your door. Something has been taken, and you will take it back.

☆MAKE THESE DREAMS COME TRUE
These prompts are design to be kept as game canon after acceptance, and can be used as the official story of how your character entered the game. Importantly, the technology used to enter your timeline causes massive time distortions, which means that the outcome of this scenario will stagger and replay itself multiple times before settling on an outcome. This means that after the fact, you character may remember being encountered multiple ways, or going in more than one direction, before the timeline settled on a final path.

B1) JUST SAY YES: Soon after these dreams, rescuers will find themselves in a strange situation. Time will abruptly stop for every part of the world except for them, and fade into a ghostly vision of its former self - just in time for them to be approached by some mysterious strangers. Whether your rescuer chooses to run, fight, or talk, eventually they'll be told the truth - people of the multiverse have been captured and taken to a universe far away to be harvested for their souls...in the form of forcing them to becoming rock stars. You heard it here first, folks.

The people recruiting you will mostly be other player rescuers that have already been recruited (regardless of whether or not that's been threaded out - you can assume your guy got recruited by someone if you want to recruit OTHER people.) The pilot and owner of the space ship doing this appears to be a blue man named Shep. He's the guy that's apparently in charge of this whole thing, but he's so busy with the dimension hopping that he's kind of hard to find and talk to. He presumably recruited some of the first members personally, but things have been sort of getting more complicated since then.

B2) INTERSTELLAR DISCO: After you've agreed to come for whatever reason - to save you lover, friend, some guy, whatever - you're be taken upon the guitar shaped spaceship to wait out the tide of the temporal distortions picking you up has caused. It's a long journey back to Vista City, and you've got plenty of new comrades to get to know. This mission could take a while, so you better get comfy. You're in for the long haul now.

NOTE: If you want to see the interior of the spaceship (or if you want to see Shep dance) watch the music video posted up top. It's going to be a fair bit bigger in Interstellar to accommodate the big crew, but the essence is there.

Well that went better than Sparks expected. Usually there's lots of bickering involved, along with the gimmicks. Compliance is refreshing to the point of being actually sort of weird.

"Mm. No prob, pal. Guy's gotta look after his gear." Just maybe in his own quarters, or something.

Sparks looks Jack over again. Sure doesn't seem like a guy who'd be used to this environment, but he's a lot more casual than most of the people Sparks has met. "You do this sorta thing often?"

Unless there is an alchemist who has discovered a formula for creating coffee any other way, a pot and boiling water is her only option. Or rather, it was before now. She's not intimidated by the idea though and is looking forward to learning about some of the other things on the ship as well.

"Of course." They're lucky that the mugs aren't on the top shelf or neither of them would have reached and someone else would have been dragged into this adventure. Mugs retrieved, she hands one to Mammon watching to see how all of this worked.

[Kise isn't the only one having fun. Even if this is a dream, Kuroko is still having fun. And it does seem to be jogging Kise's memory a little. Let's try something else.]

Do you remember this, Kise-kun?

[He turns as well, and shoots, using his palm to thrust the ball upward in that strange way he has. The Phantom shot is really Kuroko's best hope to score against Kise at all.]

[Even without his memories, Tsuna knows that praise is rare. And completely sincere. Which is why he doesn't fall back on the usual skepticism or denial that he usually receives compliments with.

He can't really stop his cheeks from going red though.]

Thanks. I'll be careful too.

[The next question is somewhat resigned though, because he's pretty sure he knows the answer.]

This is a dream, isn't it? Do you think I'll remember any of this?

[He wants to. He's been feeling so trapped lately and even just knowing someone was coming to help him would make that a little more bearable. But pessimism dictates that things are never that easy.]

Greg edges his way through just in time to catch the vanishing act, and he nearly brings down a whole pile with his jumping. As it is, a load-bearing old spring mattress creaks with effort.

"Wh, what did you--" There were days he'd play it off as a trick of the light, but now all he can think of is this stranger getting dragged off for things like that. Everyone else has been trying to keep it on the down low, but this little guy must not be with the program.

He kneels down, tense and hissing through his teeth. "You gotta be careful, kid, you'll get in big trouble if they see you doing stuff like that!"

Frisk just shrugs. "Not for real. Just for jokes." Literally all they've ever heard out of Sans's trombone is wah wah wahhhhhhhh. They've never even really seen him walking around with it; he just appears, plays it, and ducks away again. It doesn't strike them as particularly weird. They're used to him doing things like that. Papyrus says that he plays pranks across space and time.

"No. That wouldn't happen." The kid seems entirely confident in saying that. If Sans died, they'd just reload to a time before that and fix it. They know they could do it. Their last save isn't even in the Underground anymore. It wouldn't take very long.

They're not leaving anybody else behind.

Besides, dying wouldn't make Sans turn into a human in an imaginary country. They don't know what happens to monsters after they die, but probably not that. "Look." They take a few steps back, holding their hands up in front of their chest as if cupping the air. Obviously they don't really want to fight him, but some of the monsters they met didn't really want to fight either. They just didn't always get that they could hurt humans like that. So Frisk knows the trick to it now, even if there's no fighting anymore, and it's only a few seconds before the red glow of their soul becomes visible.

"This is what human souls look like. Monster ones are different." Reincarnation where your soul changes that much isn't even reincarnation. He wouldn't be Sans.

[ The interior of the kitchen merges with the forest, walls and ceiling partially missing to let in the pale light of an almost full moon. The trees around the small house are not as they should me; there are silver firs encompassing it, instead of bamboo, and the forest ground, melting together with the floor boards, is raspy, white reindeer-lichen instead of soft green grass. The usual sound of water in the small river can't be heard, either, nor can the scent of food be detected. At least he can hear that the kettle is on the stove. It is odd, and although he is used to many odd things, this is a little too different from his home than he is used to. It must be a dream, he thinks, and is more curious than anything.

Still, the baby remains calm, even as he senses a presence, and he steps from the house floor to the forest floor on light feet, to see who the visitor might be. He is easily missed if one does not look down, but Fon on the other hand, won't miss anyone close by.

The smile on his face is both gentle and polite, and his hands covered by long sleeves are pressed together. ]

Have you dropped by for some tea?

«« B2.1 »»
[ When he suddenly finds himself as an adult, there is an evident look of surprise on his face, because he has not been an adult without the help of the watch for so many years, and only part of the curse had been broken at the end of the representative battle. But then he smiles, a happy, warm smile, and stretches. He worked out most of the feeling of being back to his normal size during the brief time that he had been gifted with it, but he had just faced the thought of having to grow up a second time, and now that he was not in the middle of a battle, he wanted the chance to get a proper feel for his body without the threat of being attacked. ]

«« B2.2 »»
[ Fon has never actually been on a space ship before, and it's definitely worth investigating.

While he look around, though, he gets hungry (you might hear his stomach growl on a rare occasion). Most people would, right? It's been an eventful day, and all that. So he ends up wondering things to himself, ending up thoughtfully murmuring some of them out loud. ]

I wonder if they have spicy food around...

[ Because he loves spicy food and he has not been able to eat any for so long now. ]

Frisk tilts their head to look at Greg quizzically. Get in trouble? With who? Other humans sometimes think it's weird when they do things like that, but that's not trouble. After what they saw underground, people saying mean things doesn't register as a big problem to Frisk anymore. Besides, they're all too afraid of Mom to do anything. Undyne too. Definitely Asgore. People are actually afraid of most of Frisk's friends before they get to know them.

They shake their head decisively. Then, only because he looks scared, they add in a quiet voice, "'Sokay."

W-wait. Slow down a second.

[Okay, remembering is good. And he's glad the other boy is excited about it, and it's great that what he'd said that time got through. But this conversation is moving just a little too fast for Tsuna to keep up.]

Belphegor? Ring battles?

[Oddly he remembers the fact that the room was about to explode, just not why.]

A-and what did you call me before? Tenth?

[Tenth what? He feels like he should know.]

He hardly looks convinced, but Greg pulls back just a little. Their calm, certain reaction is in such contrast to Tiger's perpetual fear over the slightest mistake. He doesn't want to put his stress on this lucky kid.

"Just... just be careful, okay? You don't want to get caught up in anything, the guys up top will..."

It only now, ever so belatedly, occurs to him. "You're... not in the label, are you." He hasn't spoken with much of anyone outside the grip of the media in months, the expectation's ingrained into him. What should have clued him in was that they're just a kid, but... it was the confidence, of all things.

[He wasn't going to dismiss his fellow companions in this venture, only edit such things that may upset people who just should not be upset because they may take in their minds to stab him, an activity that Jack spent a lot of time trying to prevent from happening. As for the talents among them, well, that Jack is willing to accept as well, but he still thinks that they, the people, had little to do with a talking privy.]

[Hibari doesn't respond to the question immediately, instead drawing himself back to his full height to regard the boy who would one day be the Boss of the strongest Mafia Family in the world. Perhaps it was his innate humbleness and open heart that made him a good Boss-- or, perhaps it was his personal dedication in the face of such overwhelming odds?

None could say. But, the embers that would one day burn into that blinding Flame were clear, even now.]

ah, then why did you not say so? A state of mind is completely different than a part of call, even if some ports have to be found in such ways that people may consider you mad to make the attempt.

[That did not enlighten Jack one bit. He shook the strange container, frowned at the writing some more - what does surprise inside mean and should he even dare? - and then attempted to give a corner of the container a bite.]

A box? [No, he couldn't place the material at all, though he was certain that it was somehow related to the cover of a book - except those were often made out of thin planks of wood bound with leather.] I thinks your eyesight is bad, mate. A box is made out of wood and fastenings of rope or twine or even iron. This is some sort of paper from the taste of it.

[He gave the container another shake, and then sniffed, smelling something that was almost like the smell of fruit, if said fruit had been turned into fruit leather for a long voyage.]

As soon as she realizes what he intends to do, she attempts to yank away. "No!"

She's too late.

As soon as his fingers graze the chains, he'll be aware of something immense, enormous inside his brain, and a thousand images at once from three different minds, too fast to even process, crackling and flickering like lightning through thousands of synapses.

And strength, like a tidal wave bearing down, grinding and pulverizing, dragging him down into the depths. With pleasure, so much pleasure with the prospect of his destruction, aiming to tear his cells apart. There's laughter, like a deafening roar, in his ears.

If he releases, he'll be physically unharmed. Holding on, though, given time, could potentially shatter a mind apart.

[She wakes in her apartment.

It’s not a big deal, because the manila folder half spread over her chest and the mess of papers on her coffee table tell her what had happened. Another impromptu nap while working, yet another instance of failing to recognize the new signals of a new body. Rolling her eyes at herself Nariko gets up and shakes the confusion from her own limbs. She makes herself some coffee, she looks at the city below, and for a good while there she doesn’t think about anything at all. But her eyes do trail to her clothes - worn jeans and a simple top, a bangle, a ring on her left finger - and they seem oddly foreign.

In fact, this is one of her favorite apartments but the more she stares at it the more it feels as if she hasn’t been here in a very long time.]

Well, that’s probably not a good sign.

[Her instincts weren’t to be doubted, something was up, but it felt - it felt nice to be where she belonged. Even though she was alone, even though the people she loved were still dead, she was home. So it was enough to put a record on and sway a little to the music, watching the city. She couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't supposed to be alone but if she let the occasional strange sensation bother her she'd never get much done.

For all it's troubles and suffering it really was good to be home.]

Jack considered this, going as far as to tap his finger against his lower lip. While he has read various tales and legends in which people of various types and colors had flown to the stars, he hadn't really heard of many people who actually lived there or even visited there in truth. Tales and legends were tales and legends; even though he had come across them a lot in his life, it did not mean that they were all to be believed.

"Methinks it's not something people have much experience of, unless of course they are the lost princesses of the moon or the lost princes of the sun," Jack admitted as he mentally reviewed such tales.

"There is the story of the prince under the sea but that's something entirely different, so, I guess it is not something I've encountered mesself."

"The colors don't match."

As if there was anything wrong with that. Ankh had worn a number of items that did not match and were uncomfortable as hell just because he was told to by the managers. He shouldn't be acting like this was something to make fun of. It was almost like he needed to find fault with the guy, as if he had to be annoyed at him, and Ankh couldn't figure out why.

"Inklings can't swim in water. Everyone knows that..." Okay, so maybe not everyone because Kirby doesn't, and sometimes Callie forgets that fact. Agent 3 hasn't, however. Too many falls into the water in Camp Triggerfish and Mahi Mahi Resort reinforces the WATER IS BAD for her. "If the water is as colorful as ink, then some poor inkling will try to swim in it. And it's goodbye inkling."

So maybe the Fountain of Dreams is broken in that sense... for inklings.

On her side, she knows various sea creatures who may have a humanoid form, but the only non-sea creature Agent 3 has that can talk is Judd the Cat. (Other animals like birds and insects do exist, but they are just that.)

"And you don't break your bones when landing? Dude, you must have totally hard bones. Maybe that's why they've stuck around." Agent 3 is referring to the fossil remains of humans that inklings have dug up. She only really knows about humans from history. "And you have space ships too... Okay, scientists are totally wrong about you." She nods to herself.

“I don’t need help.”

If one were to take stock of the situation it would be as follows: Nariko stood in front of an incredibly beautiful stranger with the kind of smile that was probably better suited to melting the hearts of villains. She was in a place that hummed with an energy that felt overbearingly unsettling to the point of tears, and she couldn’t remember what had occurred to land her here. But she wasn’t angry, so there’s nothing to color her voice but a good amount of disbelief.

They might not match but did Eiji care? No, not really. They suited him just fine and he was content with that fact. It's not like he really needed fancy clothes anyway, discounting the times he dressed up for whatever theme Chiyoko had chosen for the Cous Coussier.

He sobers up at Ankh's question and the slight annoyance about the comment towards his choice of clothing dissipates.

"I'm your friend, Ankh."
