TEST DRIVE MEME: THE SELF TITLED ALBUM

☆WELCOME TO INTERSTELLAR
And welcome to our first TDM! We've got two types of prompts to use this time around: the first takes place while your character is in the process of being captured, and the second is during their first brainwashed rockstar tour. The former is designed to be considered 100% game canon if you make it in officially, while the later is more speculative and will only work if you get lucky during label and band selection.

☆THE TALENT SEARCH
These prompts are design to be kept as game canon after acceptance, and can be used as the official story of how your character was captured. Importantly, the kidnappers entering your timeline causes massive time distortions, which means that the outcome of this scenario will stagger and replay itself multiple times before settling on an outcome. This means that after the fact, you character may remember being captured multiple ways, or going in more than one direction, before the timeline settled on a final path. Or at least, they'll remember this until their memories are wiped shortly afterwards, but that's okay! That's what memory regains are for. Read this page for more specifics on this situation. Any powers the characters have will be weakened and prone to malfunction to the point of uselessness.

A1) THE SEARCH: It always starts out this way, doesn't it? At some point in your life, you were just doing your thing, wherever you call home. Then, all at once, it's like you've been torn from your dimension by the roots. Time and space displace, and it's like you've been shifted one layer of reality to the left - like some kind of subspace where you can see your reality through it, like a rainbow surrealist image of your home. Even if you can see this ghost image of where you were, you can't interact with it meaningfully. Any friends or family are somewhere else. As you begin to wander, without any other options, you'll find that the scenery gradually shifts to ghost images of other places, other worlds. If you wander long enough, you'll even find other people, lost just like you are. But you probably won't have much time - you've been brought here for a reason, after all.

A2) THE HUNT: It could happen almost immediately, or it could happen hours later - but, at some point, your dimensional kidnappers start to do their sweep. Space Men in black body suits and gas masks pursue you on foot and in small spaceships, trying to sweep you and the other displaced up like fish in a net. Their guns contain a weird pink gas that will knock out most with only a single breath - and for those more enduring, they have the heavy artillery, like electrical nets and guns. The fallen will be sealed up into stasis pods for transport and loaded onto the ships, which seem like the only way to get out of this place by choice. This is where it ends, but are you going to put up a fight?

☆THE MAGIC TOUR BUS
By default, these prompt aren't considered canon, but if after you are accepted and sorted they can be tweaked into working for you, it'll be totally okay to keep them as a part of your rockstar's personal history. They take place after being kidnapped and brainwashed, on your character's first tour under their new label. As it turns out, it seems like brainwashing aliens isn't the only thing the abductees have to worry about.

B1) PLAY IT STRAIGHT: It's just another day on the tour bus, in between long stretches of highway. How do you fill your time? Do you practice your instrument, or do you take full advantage of the open bar? Do you sulk and try go to bed early? Do you yell at your bandmates for ruining the toilet? Do you troll people on Twitter? Tours being what they are, everyone is probably at least a little bit tired or cranky. Just don't do anything that will get the Manager on your ass, because that's always more trouble than it's worth.

B2) THAT'S NORMAL: The Managers aren't here, as far as you can tell, leaving you in a moment of relative relaxation. Something about those guys just make you uneasy, and they're always shoving you around and making you do things you don't really want to. However, these moments of peace don't last long, because it stars to become increasingly apparent that your tour bus might be...haunted? Whether its the bus turning on without a driver and without a key, wine glasses falling off tables, or guitar static sounding like frantic whispering, things are starting to get weird. Yet, at the same time, something in your subconscious is strongly suggesting that you should ignore it, and that everything is normal and fine...

B3) THEN WHO WAS GUITAR?: These weird experiences eventually culminate in a kind of phantom music bleeding in from the air around you. The source is impossible to discern but it's somehow...familiar? Like something that played at an important moment in your life, even if the event itself just won't come to mind. What's weirder, is that everyone seems to hear something different. It gets to you in a way that your programming doesn't like - but how do you react? Reluctantly take it in, or throw a fit until it stops?

[While Yosuke poses the very hard-hitting, relevant questions Nariko goes ahead and flips one of the tables over. If she was in her normal state breaking off a table leg would be as simple as writing her name down, but now she's a little doubtful. And, of course, it's right as she's resolved to try that Yosuke says they're outside.

She drops down too.]
Shit! [That was, what, five, ten minutes maybe? This fuckers seemed pretty damn quick.] Okay, we really need a plan here, something is going to be better than absolutely nothing.

[If they got up here and started spraying that gas they were done for. But, then again, she hadn't seen anything else that could be used for a weapon, and they didn't have a lot of time to look around, either.] Look, we have to try and take them out, somehow.

[This whole sitting around and being irritated deal was already tiring.]

Okay.

[He tries to keep himself in a calm state, but it's hard. All that nervous energy of his builds up easily, and he fidgets. They were screwed. They were so, so screwed and he knew it.]

T-There's gotta be somewhere in here we can hide and take them out one by one. There's way too many of them to take head on. [What would Yu do. He wishes his partner were here for this.]

There's more tables. We can use those to hide behind! ...If they don't send all of their goons up here looking at once.
gunslingerqueen: (We're delirious so tear it down)

It's a tight place, they might not all be able to fit even if they want to. [How many had there been? Nariko had counted at least three but they might also had reinforcements. Were those gas guns bulky? She pushes out a shaky breath and tries to force her nerves out with it. Now isn't the time to be letting the brain run wild, it'll only make this worse!]

I think you're right that one by one is our best bet. We can try hiding under the desk, get a feel for how many are here, and knock them out.

[But that wouldn't leave much room for error, and hopefully Yosuke's at least decent in a scuffle. And ... For as terrible as it makes her, she has to wonder if he'll leave her behind if it doesn't go smoothly.] Can you throw a hit with some force behind it? [Please don't let these assholes be super powered and inhuman like she is - was.]
punchesyu: (yeeeeeeeeh)

[He moves a table closer to the door, as fast as he can. That should give a decent hiding spot to get a jump on anyone who comes in. Yosuke positions himself right next to the door, crouching down so that when they enter, they'd walk right past him.]

I-I've only been in one fist fight my whole life. I mean, I beat my partner up pretty good! ...That sounds weird, I mean we fought it out and...

[He hears a crash from downstairs, silencing him. They're walking upstairs now, he can hear the heavy thud of their boots on the wooden staircase.]

Get ready!
gunslingerqueen: (Kohl)

[personal profile] gunslingerqueen 2015-09-20 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, well, there's obviously a story there and she might have liked to hear it but, yeah, they aren't alone anymore. They get closer and closer with each step and there's something utterly insane about hearing it all so clearly. She presses into the wall that much more, only an inch or two from Yosuke.

The door squeaks open, its hinges were probably beyond messy after being banged in. She tries to count the rhythm of steps and it sounds like the original three. She doesn't hear anyone linger in the hall, but one set of steps fans out to the other side of the small room, another pair heads straight. The third set comes closest to their little hiding spot.

It does occur to her that if any of these fuckers lose their calm they'll blow this place up with that gas. So they have to be decisive and quick.]
punchesyu: (ok i'm over it fine it's fine)

[He's scared shitless, trying to keep his cool as he sees the first one of them enter the room. It's all he can do to adapt a more determined mindset, wondering what Yu would do- and at the same time trying to figure out what the best plan is. They were outnumbered, they could of taken two of them but three...he's not so sure. And it's not like they can escape, that guy is walking right towards them.

He's banking on the shock factor for this one. Take them by surprise, and try to get away...

As soon as the guy gets near enough to that table they'd set up, he nods to her puts his hands on the bottom of the table and lifts. Fast. Pushing the table right into the guy as hard as he possibly can, pushing that guy into the one that had entered into the center of the room. They tumble backward, caught by the simple action.

But the last one...]
gunslingerqueen: (Pray that the water will drown your fear)

[personal profile] gunslingerqueen 2015-09-20 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[She pushes with him but ultimately they're thoughts are eerily similar. The other one was too far off to be hit by the table which meant that one of them had to deal with the asshole. So she uses that instant to get to the third assailant - her strength might be gone but her speed was far more natural, and harder to take from her.

Unfortunately it's not the most coordinated attack, she slams into a body, feels the air come out of it as they meet the wall, and she bangs what feels like an arm into it, too. If she could just get that gun on her side ...

It doesn't play out that well, something hits her square in the jaw. A fist, probably, but she's slammed back onto the floor, groaning.]
punchesyu: (so yeah i'd legit be scared too)

[personal profile] punchesyu 2015-09-20 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[As she leaves his side to take care of their third assailant, Yosuke continues to push until he can feel that one of them has hit the floor. There's less resistance now from behind the object- so he lets the table fall and swings around for his own attack on the one left standing. He can't see well, and his fist lands into the guy's shoulder instead of his face like he had planned. His strike is returned with a fist of their own, cracking into him and sending him flying to the ground to join her.

He rubs his face, seeing stars. His vision clears only enough to see two figures standing above them, and he seizes up. They have those freaky guns pointed right at them, and he can hear the third guy getting up from under the table they'd shoved on them.]

...Crap-!
gunslingerqueen: (And I'm not keeping up)

[personal profile] gunslingerqueen 2015-09-20 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Eventually her vision swirls back into place, both dizzying and scary. This is not the position they want to be in, they have lost their advantage.]

Go. [It feels like her voice isn't working right. Was that shock or fear?] Go, Yosuke!

[She's pushing at him as she says it, dually attempting to get him up and push him forward, the doorway should be clear, they can at least try to make a run for it. Two can be handled, the third is still trying to get their bearings, but as she attempts this that unsettling gas is shot out into the air.] Don't breathe!

[Please let him be moving, please, anyone and anything, just let them get out of this alive.]
punchesyu: (No way-!)

[personal profile] punchesyu 2015-09-20 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[He tries. His feet scramble and he manages to get to his feet with her help. But unfortunately, Yosuke isn't the most coordinated person, and trips up over himself as he tries to bolt for the door. Panic floods him completely now, and he looks back to see how she's faring too. He wants to leave, but he also can't just leave her here now after getting this far. The gas fills the room, and he goes to yell in fear.

A move that will cost him, because now he can't hold his breath for nearly as long as he would of liked. Soon everything is covered in that hazy mist from their weapons, and he has to take a breath.

As soon as he does, his body goes limp, and his head hits the floor.]
gunslingerqueen: (Call off your ghosts)

[personal profile] gunslingerqueen 2015-09-20 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Without the same coordination issues Nariko's up somewhat quickly, but she must have bumped something because her body feels like an unnatural coil, a mess of nerves that don't know what to do. Or maybe that's the gas. Had she already breathed in too much? Probably. That must be the case because she's on wobbly legs but those men in their suits don't do anything but pump more gas.

And then Yosuke is - he's falling and she tries to say something, which means inhaling. It isn't very long before she goes down, too, and can only stare at his head. Why didn't he just run? ... Maybe because she gave him so much shit about it at the beginning.

There's no apologizing before lights out, though, so she falls unconscious with a lingering and horrible sense of guilt.]
