Welcome to Interstellar's second RESCUER TDM! A part of the Interstellar plot that first opened a couple months ago, this TDM cover the second round of recruitment for those approached by the lone space pilot Shep to join him on a mission to the planet Terra to rescue those held captive by Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment. Rescuers will not suffer any memory loss and will enter the game as they are, in contrast to the memory loss/force humanization of the musician half. Powers will be nerfed to a certain degree upon entering the game fully, but during recruitment they will remain at full power.

☆A DREAM ABOUT YOU

These prompts are designed to be game canon, for both rescuers and musicians both new and already in game. For those in game, they will start occurring around New Years in the form of dreams. The dreams will be very clear while happening, but after waking, they will swiftly fade away into something barely remembered. For rescuers, these dreams will occur very shortly before they are approached by Shep or other already recruited rebels to join the rescue squad and go save the people being held captive in Vista City. Rescuers will remember these dreams as clearly as something that actually happened in real life.

Both of these prompts take place in the dreamscape, ostensibly, and the surrounding will appear as whatever fits those taking part in a scene. It can shift and change as a thread goes along, as well, and may resemble things from a captive's home, the game setting, or anything else appropriate. Rescuers that are already in game can also end up in this dreamscape, and can run into both new musicians and new rescue team recruits.



►A1) FOR THE CAPTURED: The kidnapped musicians of Vista City will dream of being themselves - in a way more true than they have been for months now. They'll dream of themselves as they're meant to be, in physical form and manner of dress, and their personality will align more easily with their true nature, even as the confusing influences of their programming nag at their mind. It could alarm them, or it could feel somehow natural. Either way, their memories will still be gone, except for what they've recovered - but they feel somehow much closer to reach, like they may break through if only given the chance to dig just about deeper. They may dream of home, they may dream of Vista, but either way...when the morning comes, their memories of this experience will be all but wiped away. Including the memories of the strangers that promised that they would find them and take them home.

►A2) FOR THE RESCUERS: The dream is the first sign of something being wrong. You'll find yourself somewhere else - either a scene from your home, or someone else's, or an alien world you've never seen. In this dream, you'll find a person. Perhaps it's someone you recognize, someone you love dearly, but that doesn't remember you. Maybe it's a stranger, lost, confused, and desperate for help. Either way, you find yourself reaching out to them - but outside of this dream, you are helpless to save them. The dream will fade but stay with you in your memory, and may be a key component in you choosing to believe and join the other rescuers when they come to your door. Something has been taken, and you will take it back.

☆MAKE THESE DREAMS COME TRUE

These prompts are design to be kept as game canon after acceptance, and can be used as the official story of how your character entered the game. Importantly, the technology used to enter your timeline causes massive time distortions, which means that the outcome of this scenario will stagger and replay itself multiple times before settling on an outcome. This means that after the fact, you character may remember being encountered multiple ways, or going in more than one direction, before the timeline settled on a final path.




►B1) JUST SAY YES: Soon after these dreams, rescuers will find themselves in a strange situation. Time will abruptly stop for every part of the world except for them, and fade into a ghostly vision of its former self - just in time for them to be approached by some mysterious strangers. Whether your rescuer chooses to run, fight, or talk, eventually they'll be told the truth - people of the multiverse have been captured and taken to a universe far away to be harvested for their souls...in the form of forcing them to becoming rock stars. You heard it here first, folks.

The people recruiting you will mostly be other player rescuers that have already been recruited (regardless of whether or not that's been threaded out - you can assume your guy got recruited by someone if you want to recruit OTHER people.) The pilot and owner of the space ship doing this appears to be a blue man named Shep. He's the guy that's apparently in charge of this whole thing, but he's so busy with the dimension hopping that he's kind of hard to find and talk to. He presumably recruited some of the first members personally, but things have been sort of getting more complicated since then.

►B2) INTERSTELLAR DISCO: After you've agreed to come for whatever reason - to save you lover, friend, some guy, whatever - you're be taken upon the guitar shaped spaceship to wait out the tide of the temporal distortions picking you up has caused. It's a long journey back to Vista City, and you've got plenty of new comrades to get to know. This mission could take a while, so you better get comfy. You're in for the long haul now.

NOTE: If you want to see the interior of the spaceship (or if you want to see Shep dance) watch the music video posted up top. It's going to be a fair bit bigger in Interstellar to accommodate the big crew, but the essence is there.

"...really? That easy?"

The strange blonde in a sailor costume in front of her is totally baffled. She hasn't been standing in this odd void with the redhead for long at all. She'd started with 'hey, people are kidnapped, we kinda need your help' or something like that. And it went far easier than she'd thought.

"I don't think I even got into how bad this could really get, but I like your spirit! This kind of heroic thing's old hat for you, I guess?"

She gave a small smile. This was certainly different than Axel. "Not for me, I'm not a hero, yet. But my two best friends are. Sora and Riku wouldn't think twice about helping, and neither will I. Do I have time to leave them a note?" Somehow, she had a feeling that if she didn't, they'd come looking for her. Not that it would be so bad if they did, but she would rather they weren't worrying about her.

"Ah...uh, actually about that, there's a chance you might not have to," Minako waved a hand, but her smile was just a little uneasy. "What do Sora and Riku look like?"

She doesn't know if she hopes she's right or wrong about this. It's heartbreaking news, but that strength of the heart is also the core of determination they need to save the victims of this horrible kidnapping.

What did Sora and Riku look like? Oh! They must have already agreed to help! And... left her behind. Okay, she was a little irritated about that. There had better at least be a note waiting for her. She considered how to describe them. Then she smiled. Sora first then. "Okay, picture someone with spiky hair and a sweet but somewhat clueless expression on his face. Usually a big smile. That would be Sora." Riku.... Riku was harder. As they grew, he had changed the most.

"Now... picture that hair white, and the spikes pointed down, and a stern expression like an over protective big brother. That would be Riku."

Sora looked... like Sora. Just bigger. Riku had changed as he grew, and Kairi? Well... she wasn't sure about herself.

Minako's knowledge filled in the rest---instantly she saw Flashstep's vocalist and the 'Ricky' who lived in their house. She swallowed hard, then stepped closer to the girl with a sad smile.

"I think they're already in Vista City. A Riku just like that lives in the house with me, but we call him Ricky. As for Sora...a Sora just like that is one of the kidnapped. He's the lead singer of a band, and Riku's been desperately trying to help him. But it might not be enough..."

There's something missing, and Minako thinks she's standing in front of the missing piece.

It took her a long moment to absorb that. Then she squared her shoulders. "Riku is trying to save Sora, who is held by the Darkness? Can you take me to them? Or to Riku at least?" Singer in a band? That part made... no sense to her, but Riku would explain it, she was sure.

"Is Mickey there? Donald and Goofy? Are they helping Riku? Or are they with Sora?"

Was Goofy some kind of code name? The others sounded like they could be normal guys, but...no, they weren't ringing any bells. "I don't think I know anything like that. It's weird---the rescue ship can only seem to take a few people at a time. We've got a whole team back home that would help save my friend, but it only came to a few of us."

She folds her hands behind her back. "But I'm glad we reached you. I think Riku could definitely use another friend."

She nodded. "I'd help even if it wasn't Sora. But..." she gave a small sad smile. "Sora crossed countless worlds to save me and Riku. I guess it's our turn to save him." she grinned a bit. "Again. Tell me what I have to do."

[hearted]

"That's right!" Minako cheered her on. "It takes a while, and you have to be patient...but we're gonna make it. Okay! So here's what we're doing."

She clapped her hands together. "We're all taking on fake names and hiding in the city, working odd jobs. I'm a waitress, for example. We keep an eye on things, keep track of our musician friends, and if we're lucky we bump into them! We don't want to talk too long and make management suspicious, but if Sora sees you, he'll start to remember!"

"Fake names? Why would we take fake names?" she asked with a small frown. "Names help us anchor our memories. My memories of Sora were taken once, it took finding his name again, to find him." It begins with an S. Right..... Sora? It turned him into someone I felt like I missed, to someone I knew I had to find."

[hearted]

"That's right...and the friend I'm here to rescue knows my real name. She remembered somehow. But I told her it has to stay secret..." Minako folded her hands together, whispering a silent prayer for their friends and the rescuers past and present.

"The problem is that the band members are being watched really closely by their managers. We need to help our friends remember, but we also can't take the risk that their management will grill our friends for information and then hunt us down. We've already lost a big chunk of our rescue team."

"If I keep the secrets I know about the rest of you, I can still remind Sora who I am, right? I'm not afraid to take that risk. Sora would never put me in danger, and even if they find out my name, I'm not defenseless anymore, I can protect myself, and him."

[hearted]

Minako bit her lip. "You're really brave. That's great, we need that! But...what I'm scared of is that our friends might be forced to betray us. These managers wiped their memories and plopped in some new ones, I'm sure they can search our friends and force them to rat us out if they want to."

She hated thinking that, hated that she had to fear revealing things to Rei, but it was the mission. It was always for the mission. "But you might find he starts to remember on his own. Just...don't give up, and there probably will come a time we have to fight. It's good that you're ready."

[radiant_bloom]

"For Sora and Riku, I'll take that risk. I'll do anything I can to keep them safe, to help Sora remember us." She nodded. "And you'll see, Once Sora is free, he'll help us save everyone else, and then everything he knows about them will help, instead of us being in danger from what he knows about us." She trusted Sora, believed in him. She knew his heart wouldn't let him stay away for long.

[hearted]

"If he's that strong...no wonder Riku's so hard-headed about going after him. We're all that way with our friends, but..."

She shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I worry. I've been told so much about how powerful the managers are, what might happen if we get caught. And I can't do that to Rei, to Usagi, to any of my friends."

[radiant_bloom]

She nods. "I wouldn't ask you to take the risk. We each have our own ways to fight, and I think caution is ourselves having an idea of which ways will work less well for each of us. My way of fighting doesn't make me any more or less brave than you!" She smiled.

"But yeah, Sora's strong, and his heart is huge. And Riku is always going to do whatever it takes to save him. And me. So this time, I'll be doing whatever it takes too."

[hearted]

"Well...if you need help, I'd be happy to, okay? I know what it's like be thrown in head over heels and expected to fight," she laughed. Hadn't helped that she'd only had a certain talking cat laughing at her those first few days.

"A new friend of mine and I were thinking about starting training in an abandoned warehouse. We'd have to keep moving every night, but it's going to get ugly, and I want to make sure everyone's up for the fight."

[radiant_bloom]

"I'm sure Riku and I will be there!" she said with a firm nod. "And I appreciate the help. If there is one thing I learned from Sora it's that heroes work best when they work together."

[hearted]

"He's right. I was part of a bigger team fighting to protect the planet...only a few of us are here now, though. But that doesn't make us weak. We just trust our new friends to fill the gaps, right?"

She sure hoped so. "So I'll help you! I want to make sure we're ready, the stronger the better."

[radiant_bloom]

She nodded. "When we all put out hearts together, who can't we save?" she asked.

[hearted]

"You got it," she winked. "Just let me know when you're ready, okay? Our ship's on a tight schedule, we need reinforcements as soon as possible."

[radiant_bloom]

"Ready," she said, holding out her hand. "All I need are Sora and Riku, and you said they're already there. Anything else is always with me,"

[hearted]

"Well...you're gonna need food and shelter too," Minako said rather responsibly, taking her arm. "But we've got that covered. I have a friend who's making sure we don't starve out there."

Rei's help is such a huge relief to her. She does all right with tips, but the extra security means a lot.

She nodded. "Good. IS there anything you need me to bring, then?"

"There's not much room on the ship for extra stuff, but Shep can help you with any items that would help you fight. Small weapons, spellbooks, that kind of thing?"

Small pens and compacts in Minako's case, but hey, they work. "You'll get clothes when you get there. They're a little weird, but don't worry! Everybody else looks just as weird."
