☆RESCUER TEST DRIVE: SOMETHING ABOUT US

☆WELCOME RESCUERS

Welcome to Interstellar's second RESCUER TDM! A part of the Interstellar plot that first opened a couple months ago, this TDM cover the second round of recruitment for those approached by the lone space pilot Shep to join him on a mission to the planet Terra to rescue those held captive by Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment. Rescuers will not suffer any memory loss and will enter the game as they are, in contrast to the memory loss/force humanization of the musician half. Powers will be nerfed to a certain degree upon entering the game fully, but during recruitment they will remain at full power.

☆A DREAM ABOUT YOU
These prompts are designed to be game canon, for both rescuers and musicians both new and already in game. For those in game, they will start occurring around New Years in the form of dreams. The dreams will be very clear while happening, but after waking, they will swiftly fade away into something barely remembered. For rescuers, these dreams will occur very shortly before they are approached by Shep or other already recruited rebels to join the rescue squad and go save the people being held captive in Vista City. Rescuers will remember these dreams as clearly as something that actually happened in real life.

Both of these prompts take place in the dreamscape, ostensibly, and the surrounding will appear as whatever fits those taking part in a scene. It can shift and change as a thread goes along, as well, and may resemble things from a captive's home, the game setting, or anything else appropriate. Rescuers that are already in game can also end up in this dreamscape, and can run into both new musicians and new rescue team recruits.

A1) FOR THE CAPTURED: The kidnapped musicians of Vista City will dream of being themselves - in a way more true than they have been for months now. They'll dream of themselves as they're meant to be, in physical form and manner of dress, and their personality will align more easily with their true nature, even as the confusing influences of their programming nag at their mind. It could alarm them, or it could feel somehow natural. Either way, their memories will still be gone, except for what they've recovered - but they feel somehow much closer to reach, like they may break through if only given the chance to dig just about deeper. They may dream of home, they may dream of Vista, but either way...when the morning comes, their memories of this experience will be all but wiped away. Including the memories of the strangers that promised that they would find them and take them home.

A2) FOR THE RESCUERS: The dream is the first sign of something being wrong. You'll find yourself somewhere else - either a scene from your home, or someone else's, or an alien world you've never seen. In this dream, you'll find a person. Perhaps it's someone you recognize, someone you love dearly, but that doesn't remember you. Maybe it's a stranger, lost, confused, and desperate for help. Either way, you find yourself reaching out to them - but outside of this dream, you are helpless to save them. The dream will fade but stay with you in your memory, and may be a key component in you choosing to believe and join the other rescuers when they come to your door. Something has been taken, and you will take it back.

☆MAKE THESE DREAMS COME TRUE
These prompts are design to be kept as game canon after acceptance, and can be used as the official story of how your character entered the game. Importantly, the technology used to enter your timeline causes massive time distortions, which means that the outcome of this scenario will stagger and replay itself multiple times before settling on an outcome. This means that after the fact, you character may remember being encountered multiple ways, or going in more than one direction, before the timeline settled on a final path.

B1) JUST SAY YES: Soon after these dreams, rescuers will find themselves in a strange situation. Time will abruptly stop for every part of the world except for them, and fade into a ghostly vision of its former self - just in time for them to be approached by some mysterious strangers. Whether your rescuer chooses to run, fight, or talk, eventually they'll be told the truth - people of the multiverse have been captured and taken to a universe far away to be harvested for their souls...in the form of forcing them to becoming rock stars. You heard it here first, folks.

The people recruiting you will mostly be other player rescuers that have already been recruited (regardless of whether or not that's been threaded out - you can assume your guy got recruited by someone if you want to recruit OTHER people.) The pilot and owner of the space ship doing this appears to be a blue man named Shep. He's the guy that's apparently in charge of this whole thing, but he's so busy with the dimension hopping that he's kind of hard to find and talk to. He presumably recruited some of the first members personally, but things have been sort of getting more complicated since then.

B2) INTERSTELLAR DISCO: After you've agreed to come for whatever reason - to save you lover, friend, some guy, whatever - you're be taken upon the guitar shaped spaceship to wait out the tide of the temporal distortions picking you up has caused. It's a long journey back to Vista City, and you've got plenty of new comrades to get to know. This mission could take a while, so you better get comfy. You're in for the long haul now.

NOTE: If you want to see the interior of the spaceship (or if you want to see Shep dance) watch the music video posted up top. It's going to be a fair bit bigger in Interstellar to accommodate the big crew, but the essence is there.

Riku was not a fan of this deal. Not at all. In fact he was pretty vocal about it when it was being discussed. It violated everything he stood for.

He had no doubt that Leonie's cause was a good one, the France he visited hadn't been a Utopia.

"Do they have Notre Dome in your City of Bells?" he asked.

He was making conversation to confirm his suspicions that her cause was just. If they weren't, he'd do everything in his power to make sure she didn't get those weapons. He'd go behind Silver's, Gold's, and Shep's backs to take them away.

Ah, a conversationalist. The one who resisted her deal. On one hand, she couldn't help but admire someone who kept to their ideals. She was a stranger and he knew nothing about her. Who knows what she could do with those weapons. His concerns, in her opinion, were perfectly valid.

But by doing so he interfered with her goals. Which was a problem. She'll be cordial, but if he interferes again, he may have to be dealt with accordingly.

"There is. A magnificent building. One of my allies is a friar there." Perhaps she'll keep the additional information that he's hosting their rebellion meetings in the basement to herself.

"It was beautiful in the Paris I visited," he said, feeling a little wistful. "Beautiful city." But there had been so much ugliness as well. Discrimination against the Roma people. Against people like Quasimodo.

He watched her for a moment. Then he looked out the window to the stars. The same principles that make him want to keep the weapons from her would keep him from interfering from her rebellion. If her King somehow managed to bring the heartless to her world he'd join her. The opposite was true as well. He didn't know.

"Is a friar like an archdeacon?" That's what Judge Frollo was. But he all he knew about Catholicism was that Frollo was a man of power because of it and he abused it.

She finds herself unconsciously relaxing at that statement. "Yes, it is. I've lived there my whole life, so I suppose I've grown used to it. But there's beauty everywhere in that city." In the sights and sounds, but especially the people just trying to survive through another day. You could see the desperation in their faces, but also the bravery and strength they held onto with their lives. It made the ugliness around them all too apparent in contrast.

"I believe they work under the archdeacon." She hesitates. "But I'm not a particularly religious person." Young people tended to get more or less flack on that confession depending who you talked to. Remus was surprisingly understanding on the subject, despite being a literal rat of the church.

He can't help but smile a little. "Did the Roma still have their festivals? I made a lot of friends with them when I visited."

He gave a shrug. "I don't know much myself. I've seen so many religions and met those called gods, but that doesn't mean anything, really does it? The islands I came from didn't really have much in the way of religion."

"Possibly. My father took me to one when I was a child, but I haven't been to one in a while." No spare money.

"I've had my reasons for religious doubt, to be honest."

"What are yours if I may ask?"

He had a feeling they would run along her desire to overthrow her king.

Considering the society that she lives in and her current level of trust toward Riku, she hesitates. Still, being something vaguely similar to honest would be ideal. Building up teamwork and camraderie to strength themselves against their foes and all that. How to phrase this exactly...

"I suppose the best explanation I can give is this situation. A kind God wouldn't let people suffer or get kidnapped, just so others can make a profit."

At this, Riku visibly relaxes. He feels like he can trust her.

"Thank you for sharing that with me," he said. He gives her a look. "I won't interfere with your goals." He looks back out the window. "All these worlds, with so many different peoples, it's hard to judge what's right and what's wrong, you know."

After a moment he turns back to her. "Just promise you'll never become like your king, and you'll never see me after this mission. Because if you do, and it's because of the weapons you're given? I will personally stop you."

It might a little heavy, but Riku isn't one for subtlety. He feels it's probably an unnecessary threat. He doubts she'll fall to darkness, but he has his own convictions, and honesty deserves honesty. It's the only way to show respect, which he hopes she'll see it as such.

That's a lot of information he's going through, but she nods in understanding. Everyone had their own reasons for coming on this trip and she could respect that. If making sure that no one abuses their power is his role, or at least part of it, his cause was just.

"Of course. King Louis' ignorance and arrogance has let France's people suffer while the bourgeoisie succeed. I have no interest in letting anyone, myself included, rule the Second Republic without the best intentions for its people."

"Quite frankly, I would all but welcome your interference if I too became a false Citizen King."

Riku gives her a smile. "I'm sure it won't come to that."

Sure, but power does corrupt. He knows that story. Xehanort was someone corrupted by power. He himself had been corrupted by it, and it was a long climb back up from falling.

He won't interfere with her goals. But he will keep an eye on her, during this mission and after.
