There's a lot of people from Old Earth on here, may as well explain it. ] Humans been into space travel few hundred years, by my point, only just started settlin' Mars some decades back. My job's makin' sure settlers and the locals get along well, protect 'em from, y'know, all manner of lawlessness.

Then some fella with space powers started making weird copies of everybody from different realities... then some other fella with space powers started unmaking them so's there'd be only one real universe... an' I convinced him he should let those realities, y'know, keep existing...

...So yeah, that's sorta what I mean by 'weird.'
