Well, if you don't support your fans, you won't have many. And without fans we're out of a job.
[He doesn't realize things are more complicated than that, of course, but in a typical rock star situation this would ring true.
It doesn't help that coming from him this sounds more than a little hypocritical, given that he doesn't even acknowledge his fans half the time.]
