Name: James
Character: Luce, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, [personal profile] giglio_madonna
Aspect: Duty
Describe:
Luce recalled the Tri-Ni-Set song, something that is passed down through the matriarchs of the Giglio Nero Famiglia from its founder Sepira.

The Sea knows no bounds. The Clam passes down its form from generation to generation. The Rainbow appears from time to time before fading away.

This 'song' is a reference to the Tri-Ni-Set (7³), three sets of seven rings which are said to be responsible for the creation of the world and all three sets which correspond to Flames of the Sky. (Sky, Storm, Lightning, Rain, Sun, Cloud, Mist) There are the Mare rings (the sea), the Vongola rings (the clam), and the Arcobaleno (the rainbow). The song references each sets' place in the time-space axis. The Mare rings travel horizontally (across alternate universes), the Vongola travel down the vertical time-space axis, and the Arcobaleno exists as points in space and time.

Things of note: it was the Giglio Nero's original founder who gave the Vongola rings to the Vongola Famiglia and who decided to keep the Mare rings within her Famiglia. The rings/pacifiers of the Arcobaleno were never something she kept. Also, Sepira was 100% a full blooded alien.

Whether because of the Sky flames passed down through the family or because of yeah alien ancestor, the 7³ song is not something that's taught in the traditional manner. Instead, it's something that's practically carved into the very being of the Giglio Nero women. Luce may never say anything of this song to her daughter Aria, but Aria would still know it perfectly down to each word. It's hinted by an explanation of it by Yuni, Luce's granddaughter, that knowing this song means knowing what it means in regards to the 7³.

This song is one of the most important things to the matriarchs of the Giglio Nero. When those words came to Luce's mind, that sense of duty made her out of brainwashed character in how calm she became.

If anyone else were to have this memory, it's debatable if they would be able to so neatly put together the 7³ song and the image of these rings as things that are intrinsically connected. Luce herself can't entirely say why she herself is so certain of it. She simply knows that it is the utter truth, and it has her faith no matter how out of context it feels. It's her duty, after all.

Note #2: while she is the caretaker of the Mare rings, Luce is set soon from her canon point to become the Sky Arcobaleno. This is a cursed existence for two reasons. First of all, all of the Arcobaleno are cursed as toddlers for... reasons. This only applies to Luce, and does not pass down to her daughter who 'inherits' the curse/pacifier of the Arcobaleno. Secondly, unique to the Sky Arcobaleno, they end up having a shortened life span. This does get passed down to Luce's daughter and granddaughter.

Note #3: An ability unique to the Sky Arcobaleno is that in the event that all the other Arcobaleno are somehow killed, she has the ability to bring them all back to life... in exchange for using up her own life force aka dying. The process takes some time to complete. As a matriarch of the Giglio Nero family, a seer, and caretaker of the Mare rings (part of the 7³), it is highly likely that this is information known to Luce and her descendents much like the 7³ song. The idea of sacrifice in the name of duty is something that's tightly bound to this memory.

tl;dr: James what the hell is with your canon Luce remembered the Tri-Ni-Set (7³) song which details the purpose of three sets of seven rings, a song that is engraved into her very being ever since she was born. Two of the three sets carry a feeling of a very personal duty, that being the Mare and the Arcobaleno. The latter has a sense of sacrifice entwined with it.
Essence: Empathetic. Deep. Capable. Leader.
