Ace didn't miss a beat, simply dropping down and bracing his arm likewise. "I hope you don't play anything that could get messed up from less than delicate fingers," he gave her an evil grin, but he kept his fingers gentle at least, more determined to let his strength do it all.

Something about it reminded him of something, but hell if Ace could remember specifically what. It probably didn't matter.

"You didn't answer the main point of the question either," he stuck his tongue out to tease her -- and that reminded him of someone else. Someone? Something? No, definitely someone. A couple of faces that always seemed to do that tongue-out thing, and that were the epitome of small and spunky. Why couldn't he remember? Maybe he didn't want to remember.
